For more than a dozen years, the Lake Placid Institute has been working to enhance the cultural life of the Adirondack region. It aims to build an environment that fosters creativity by presenting the talents of outstanding artists, leaders and thinkers to the resident community as well as to visitors to our area. The Institute develops and presents high-quality, innovative programs, often forming partnerships with other arts organizations, and seeks to celebrate the broad cultural heritage of the region. Founded in 1994, the Lake Placid Institute is committed to working in a broad area of arts and humanities, with a number of partners. We draw on area venues and performance spaces for an ever-increasing number of programs and performances. We strive to serve as an incubator for ideas. Many of our best programs start with a "what if?" asked by a Board member, visitor or supporter. We welcome proposals from individuals and organizations interested in working with us. The Lake Placid Institute offices are on the third floor of the North Elba Town Hall, in the heart of Lake Placid. Please feel free to contact us for information about programs or about volunteer opportunities at (518) 523-1312. |
